Show Police report theft, accidents Police are investigating the theft of a 1976 Kawasaki 125 from the rear of E & E Sports Center sometime between 8:30 and 1 1 p.m. Sept. 29. The vehicle had been left parked outside, with the key in, while the owner worked inside the shop. The motorcycle, motorcy-cle, yellow in color, is valued at $900. There was an accident Sept. 30 at 3:50 p.m. on North Main. Caye Grant, driving a 1968 Chevrolet and making a left turn, failed to see a 1976 Suzuki driven by Michael Swasey, who was going south. They collided resulting in about $500 damage to the motorcycle and about $100 damage to the Chevrolet. Ms. Grant was cited for improper lookout, causing an accident. Also Sept. 30 at 8:45 p.m. on South Main, Nedetta Rockwell was driving south in a 1976 Mercury and she failed to see a 1976 Ford driven by Johnnie Ossola, who had stopped for another vehicle to turn right ahead. She ran into the rear of the Ossola vehicle and there was about $400 damage to the Mercury and about $100 damage to the Ford. Ms. Rockwell was cited for improper im-proper lookout, causing an accident. On Oct. 4 a 1965 Ford belonging to Betty Jo Hayes, parked in front of her home, apparently came out of gear during the evening. It rolled about 200 feet and hit a utility pole. There was about $250 damage to the vehicle. Doug Farnsworth reported that sometime during the week vandalism was done to a tractor at the Roy Holyoak farm. Someone had knocked out gauges, doing about $200 damage. Also, all the baled hay which was stacked nearby had the twine cut. |
