Show Citizens party chooses slate for election Receiving the nod of the Citizen's Party Convention as candidates for mayor and city councilmen, respectively, were Tom Stocks, Fred Lathrop and Howard Bennett. The Citizen's Party held its convention at the senior citizens' building the evening of Oct. 3. This party is non-partisan and convenes only for the purpose of nominating candidates for city offices. Incumbent Councilman Harold Jacobs has filed his petition for the office of mayor, while incumbent Mayor W. D. McDougald has filed a petition for city councilman. Two other incumbents, Keith Peterson and Jim Wiseman, have also filed petitions for city councilman. In addition, three other petitions peti-tions had been picked up at the City Offices by Oct. 4. Deadline for filing of petitions is Oct. 11. Anyone interested in running for a city office may pick up a petition, which must be signed by 25 registered voters who are city residents. |
