Show AUTO- RACING... The Utah - Colorado Auto Racing Assn. ended their season with a big contest in Grand Junction on Sept. 17. Utah and Colorado auto racing fans watched Emery Hooker take top honors at Grand Jet. Driving a car owned by Leon Moore, Emery took 6 first place and high points trophies for the 1977 racing season. Final standings for the 1977 season were: Emery Hooker, 1, Grand Jet.; Ed Colman, 20, Delta, Co.; Butch Norris, 77, Grand Jet.; Doug Knock, 76, Grand Jet.; Jerry White, 71, Grand Jet.; Leroy Severyn, 39, and All Reddick, 95, both of Grand Jet. Placing 8th, Dwain McCar-ty, McCar-ty, 99, Delta, Co.; Ken Sharp, 65, also Delta; Micky Stub-bings, Stub-bings, 27, Grand Jet.; Randy Taylor, 66, Hayden; Bob As-hurst, As-hurst, 97, Delta, Co. A good showing for Moab drivers. Rick Hirschfeld finished fin-ished 13th in the standings. Merv Lawton was right behind be-hind him. Wayn Weber, of Hayden, Co. placed 15th. |
