Show Freeze Branding Demonstration j Set February 27 There will be a "Freeze Branding" demonstration in San Juan county on Monday, Mon-day, February 27, at 1 (p.m. The demonstration will be held at John Peterson's cor-rall cor-rall on the North side of Highway 160, eight and one-half one-half miles East of Monticel-lo. Monticel-lo. The livestock will be furnished by John Peterson and James Crowley. Dr. Clair Acord, Livestock specialist for Utah State University Un-iversity Extension Services will be here to conduct the j demonstration, assisted by j Blaine Jones, County Agent for San Juan and Grand counties. All interested persons per-sons are invited to attend j this demonstration. This demonstration is in response to numerous requests re-quests for such a demonstration demonstra-tion on freeze branding. There has also been considerable consid-erable interest shown by cattlemen of the area in cross-breeding of beef cattle. cat-tle. While Dr. Acord1 is in the area several meetings are planned to discuss pros and cons of cross-breeding. The first meeting will be held at the Blanding Library at 7:30 p.m. Monday, February Feb-ruary 27. The second will be in the Courtroom in Monticello at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Tues-day, February 28, and the third meeting will be held at the Grand county courthouse, court-house, either in the commissioners commis-sioners room, or the courtroom court-room at 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 28. All interested persons are also invited to attend any of these meetings. TWO CAR COLLISION One car was totaled and another damaged an estimated esti-mated $100 in a 2-vehicle collision on Old City Park Road Monday. Wallace Win-dor Win-dor was attempting a left turn on the highway when his pickup was struck by a car driven by Owen Green. Owen was cited by investigating investi-gating officers for improper lookout causing an accident. Green's car was totaled; the Windor pickup damaged an : estimated $100. |
