Moabites Enjoy Delightful Hawaiian Island Vacation Mrs. Madge Cunningham returned Monday from a delightful de-lightful vacation in the Hawaiian Islands. Her traveling trav-eling companion, Mrs. Essie Es-sie Bailey, remained for a longer visit. While in the Islands the Moab women were guests at the home of Mrs. Bailey's son and wife, Lt. Col. and Mrs. I Wendell Bailey, stationed sta-tioned with the U. S. Air Force there. They took their quests on tours of the Islands Is-lands and various plaee.s of interest Fearl Harbor, U. S. Air Force, Marine, Navy and Army bases; they dined at the exclusive Officer's Of-ficer's Club, and at many of the exotic native cafes, and attended a Luau. They took interesting trips hrough stores, and toured the Alfred Al-fred Shaheen factory wher cloth is hand printed, cut and fashioned into Hawaiian Hawai-ian fashions. Mrs. Cunningham Cunning-ham purchased some for her Moab shop Take Air Tour They enjoyed a tour of the LDS Temple grounds in 'Hawaii; lunched under a large Banyan tree overtook ing VVakiki Beach, and took a shuttle air tour to the city of Hilo the main Island of Hawaii, where they spent two d:iys as guests of former Moabites, Mrs. Nora Hauler anil Miss Laverda Waldstein, who have purchased a home there. They toured the Isle of Hawaii, spent a day at Kilanea Volcano and museum mus-eum where movies were shown of the spectacular eruptions of the volcano, pnd saw a cone lava deposit left from recent eruptions in the middle of sugar cane and papaya groves. They drove through miles of beautiful orchids, and an-theriums, an-theriums, with snow caip-ped caip-ped Mt. Mauna Kea in the background. "It's a trip everyone should make," Mrs. Cunningham Cun-ningham said upon her return, re-turn, but she noted the rugged rug-ged Canyonlands rcenery teemed even mere soectac-tacular soectac-tacular after two weeks in the tropics. |
