Show Board Allocates Recreation Program Funds At a budget hearing this week, the Grand County Recreation Board apportioned apportion-ed funds for the summer recreation program. Board members present were chairman, chair-man, Curtis Robertson, comjmissioners, Ralph Miller, Sr. and Mars Pope, councilman, council-man, Jack West, and school board member, Ralph Griffin. Grif-fin. The budget slightly' exceeded ex-ceeded the $13,000 allocated allocat-ed for the year; however, enough funds remain from last year to cover the deficit, defi-cit, Mr. Robertson said. Glen Richeson was rehired re-hired as Recreation Director Direc-tor at a salary of $2,000 per year. Other budgeted items included Summer Youth programs, including little league, swimming, golf and tennis lessons, reading program pro-gram for children, and boys and girls Softball, $8,857. The Moab Museum was allocated $2,700; the Moab Golf Club, $1,800 for equipment; equip-ment; the American Legion baseball program for 16 year old youths and over, $500; Canyonlands Festival, $1,000. Total, $14,857. Estimated returns from baseball, swimming and gclf is $1,485. Net expenditures, $13,372. |
