Show Two Wrecks Net DWI Citations Two wrecks occurred near LaSal Junction this week, each netting a DWI citatior to the driver. Sunday a vehicle driver toy Harvey Wanye Dortor was traveling South on the (hiighlway leading North from the Junction when he ran off the road, and traveled travel-ed a precarious route before stopping. The car traveled 290 feet after leaving the highway, at one time traveling travel-ing 48 feet through the air, clipping limlbs off the top of a small cedar tree. The vehicle ve-hicle rammed another cedar ce-dar tree, breaking it off at the trunk, and scattered limbs for 70 feet, before stopping. One passenger, a juvenile, was treated at the Allen Memorial Hospital for a cut on her knee; others in the car received minor ' cuts and scratches. Dorton was charged by investigating investigat-ing officer Bruce Black with driving while intoxicated!, and driving without a license, licen-se, and jailed. Tuesday a pickup ran off the road at 12:15 p.m. rendering ren-dering $800 damage to the vehicle. Driver, Jerry Ben ally, al-ly, was unharmed. He was jailed1, and charged with driving while intoxicated, and with no operators license licen-se by investigating Patrolman Patrol-man Black. He was later trnsferred to the San Juan County Jail, at Monticelio. |
