Show SWANSEA CON. AND BECK TUNNEL ARE " REPORTED IN ORE A report from Silver City is to ths affect af-fect that a nice streak of ore has been developed in tha Swansea Consolidated shaft. Ths first word from the mine was to tha effect that eighteen Inches of a commercial grade of ors hsd been cut, though no details could be secured from the Knight offices In Provo. as all of the officiate of ths company were out of town. Some delay was experienced In sinking ths Swansea, shaft, as one of ths old pumps had to be removed, being unable to hand la tha flow any longer, last week a new pump was installed and It gavs satisfaction from the outset. Sinking Sink-ing was resumed and It la presumed that the new development haa resulted In lapping the ore at greater depth. This condition waa anticipated and It would not surprise some of tha old time operators opera-tors of that section if Swansea re-entered tha production list on a profit making mak-ing scsle. When the work was resumed the shaft waa down 120 feet, at which point a vein evekaBswfvwavsBvwsejtsvve a"")""" same vein cut on the 850-foot level. I'pon the K60 level this vein was cut shout 4 en feet from the shaft and the dip was such that it cams Into the shaft Just below the 90 level. 8om ssaaya made this week show that at a depth of 20 feet the vein carries values of 30 per cent lead and 4A ounces silver. The opening of this vein increased tha flow of water In tha shsft to some extent snd at present the pumps are handling about 125 gallons a minute. At the same time a report came from Tintlc camp to the effect that Beck Tunnel Tun-nel had encountered a cave. It waa said that ths cave has a crystallised forma-I forma-I lion, and that the Indications of a near approach to an ore body were very encouraging. en-couraging. Details of the new development develop-ment could not he ascertained, but traders trad-ers were optimistic as to ths outcoms. |
