Show OREGON SHORT LINE MEN ARE REMEMBERED A reception was tendered H ' Hllllker and H. J. Roth, retiring division superintendent super-intendent and assistant division superintendent superin-tendent of the Salt Lake division of the abregon Short IJne. by the employees of road Friday evenln at the Kn- -V. L. Anderson, passenger conductor. Sjkefl as master of ceremonies, and after 4. brief speech. In which he touched upon the high esteem fn which the two officials offi-cials are held by all. presented Mr. Hllllker Hllll-ker a purse containing a substantial sum in gold and Mr. Roth a handsome diamond dia-mond stud. The gifts came as a deep surprise to trftli men. Both expressed their gratitude grati-tude .for the good will of the men who had served under them, and their high appreciation of the gifts. A social hour followed the presentation, while pujich flowed free and cigars were passed about. Among those present were H. A. Whitney, superintendent of the I'nWm Pacific, and Depot Master Cunningham of Ogden Mr. Hllllker and Mr Roth have recently recent-ly resigned from the Short Line service. |
