Show I Wild Horse Sale Held GREENJtrVER County commta-ionrrt commta-ionrrt ot Emery county, cooperating cooperat-ing with the grazing rervlce, had old at auction Thursday the first wild homes to be gathered in the San Rafael desert, according to A. W. Magleby, district grazier. The horses had been gathered aa a result of a project to eliminate elimi-nate all wild and unclaimed horses from the San Rafael and Robbers' Roost areas, he said. S. H. Adams of Teasdale. who has contracted to deliver the horses to Greenriver, delivered 50 horses last week. Mr. Adams' contract specifies that ha is to receive J6 per head for all horses delivered, Mr. Magleby Ma-gleby stated. In the event that the horses are claimed, tha owner must pay the fee, he said. Mr. Adams has returned to the desert to complete his contract to deliver all stray horses, it was an. nounced. The horses are caught by forcing them to drink from fenced water holes, all other water holes being guarded. When the horse la Inside the fence he Is cap. tured and removed to a larger cor ral to await auction. Mr. Magleby estimated that there are 200 more horses at large on the desert. As soon as a considerable con-siderable number are gathered another an-other auction will be held, possibly in Price, he stated. |
