Students and Alumni Launch Homecoming Festivities Regular academic atmosphere gave way to traditional collegiate col-legiate capering at the University of Utah Thursday as classes were cut and study halted to launch the school's annual home- v coming festivities. Featured development of the day was the announcement by judges that Roberta Ludden. daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. D. Ludden of 3245 South State street, a Delta Delta Delta sorority member, had been chosen queen of the event Named to assist her as regal ruler for the week-end were two attendants, Miss Virginia Davis, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur H. Davis of 1402 Laird avenue, and Miss Marjorie Mellor. daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Mellor of 445 East Third South street Miss Davis is a Chi Omega sorority member. Miss Mellor a Delta Delta Delta. rl Chief purpose of the claas-cut-ting was to rush completion of organization or-ganization house decorations, to be judged Thursday at :30 p. m, and to work on floats for exhibition exhibi-tion in Saturday's parade. Thursday at 8 p. m. students and graduates will meet in. Kingsbury hall to see apd hear final competition compe-tition in quartet sibling and skit presentations. Quartet finalists announced Thursday .include PI Beta Phi. .Alpha Delta PI, Chi Omega and Delta Gamma for girls, and Pi Kappa Alpha. Sigma Nu. Sigma Chi and Capitol club for boys.
