Show SEARCH CALLED OFF FOR 'ATTACKED' SHIP WASHINGTON, Nov. 2 11 The coast guard definitely called off Its search for the British freighter Coulmore at 3 p. m. today, apparently appar-ently satisfied that the vessel was safe. Vessels which had been looking for the freighter reported to have been attacked 400 miles off Boston Tuesday night, were ordered to return re-turn to their regular assignments. Although the coast guard had been advised early today that the Coulmore had radioed It was safe, the search was continued until. It was learned, the coast rfuard received re-ceived substantiating Information of an undisclosed nature. The Camperdown radio station In Canada had wirelessed the coast guard cutter Bibb that at 2:30 a. m. it was advised by the Coulmore that she is safe. |
