Show FARMER DEATH MAY BEPROBED of an investigation by Utah county authorities loomed Fridsy following tbs death Wednesday of Arthur Edward Ed-ward Hawkins, American Fork farmer who was clubbed four years ago in a dispute over irrigation water. Mr. Hawkins died at the horns of dsughter, Mrs. Orson A. Hsscke, of 328 Redondo avenue in Salt Lake City. Ha was ST years old. Ths death certificate filed in Salt Lake City by Dr. Stephen H. Besiey attributed death to "intercranial damage of unknown type," but noted that Mr. Hawkins had been "beaten over the head." Utah county court records show that David Shelley of American Fork and two sons, Eldon and Moroni, Mo-roni, were charged with battery as ths outgrowth of a fight Juns 13. S3S. in which Mr. Hawkins suffered head injuries. Ths three were convicted con-victed in city court, but acquitted by district court jury on appeal. Utah County Attorney Arnold C. Royeuiee Friday said that whila he had not formally been notified of ths case, if the facts warranted an Investigation would be made. Mr. Hawkins widow, saying "I've been through court so much I'm sick of It," indicated shs would not prsas charges, adding, "Anyway, the ' Shellsys already have been punished enough." Sheriff John 8. Evans of Utah county said hs saw no reason for his office to press charges if Mra. Hawkins Haw-kins did not dssirs it. |
