Show Farm Group Names Head Ward C Holbrook. of Davis county wa reelected president of th Utah Stat Farm Bureau federation fed-eration at a board of directors meeting meet-ing Thursday afternoon at th New-house New-house hotel. The election meeting was part of the four-day convention of the federation. Mn Holbrook, who operates farm in Davis county! is a stats senator sen-ator and president of th Utah public pub-lic service commission. Hs was president of the farm organisation during the past year. Elected vice president wss A. W. Chambers, secretary of the Utah Canning Crops association. The executive committee as chosen by the board Includes Mr. Holbrook, Mr. Chambers, Mrs. Mary K. Mower, chairman of the home and community department; George F. Stalling!, president of the Weber county farm bureau; J. R. Beus, president of Weber Central Cooperative Coop-erative dairy; George K. Holt, president presi-dent of the Utah Canning Crops association; as-sociation; E. J. Holmgren, president of North Box Elder farm bureau; James H. Ellison, president of Juab county farm bureau, and J. R. Rawlins, Raw-lins, president of the Utah Sugar Beet Growers' Cooperative association. associa-tion. . The directors also accepted the Utah Horticultural society aa an affiliate of th Farm Bureau federation. AAA Bead Talks At the annual banquet at the Newhouse hotel Thursday night, T. E. Howard, senior administrative officer of the AAA, and Governor Henry H. Blood were principal speakers. Mr. Howard asserted the fsrm problem to be that of raising the price level of farm products to the price level of the products of industry, in-dustry, and that the problem would not be aovled until this is dons. Pointing out that the American farmer could flood the country with virtually every commodity he produces, pro-duces, Mr. Howard said: "Some say, let us have economy of abundance. abun-dance. "My answer 1. all right, but let's begin somewhere else. Agriculture has carrisd the burden long enough. Let Industry produce an abundance of its products at a price below the production cost for awhile' Governor Blood lauded efforts of cooperation among the farmers, and said this spirit would bring about peace and prosperity. |
