The society keeps the animals until efforts to find them a home prove fruitless, then there is no more hope for them. The six dogs now at the hospital hospi-tal include two collie puppies, two small terriers, a bull pup and on whose identity is not so definite. Six lives hung In the balance Tuesday. Canine lives to be sure, but live just the same, and just as precious for all that. But it was not the first time they had been endangered, for it waa by some previous disaster, such aa being struck by an automobile auto-mobile or becoming lost and hungry, hun-gry, that they had come to their present abode a veterinary hospital hos-pital Now the six animals, which at one time were fondled pets, face destruction merely because circumstances cir-cumstances have made them homeless. They have been rescued res-cued from their various injured and perilous conditions by officers offi-cers of the humane society, and if no homes can be found for them they will have to be destroyed. de-stroyed.
