Bleak presides at first auction Equipment Confiscated in Raid On Club Goes 'Under Hammer' 'Closing Out' Sale Disposes of Everything From Siphon Bottles to Pillows First sale of confiscated barroom equipment since Utah's liquor law went into effect was held Tuesday afternoon under direction of Deputy Sheriff T. N. Bleak, chief civil deputy for Salt Lake county. at 49 East Broadway. Offered at auction were all of the furnishings of the Hawaiian club, operated at 429 West Broads-ay before it was raided July 24. The raiders evidently "mopped up the place." for the articles offered of-fered for sale Tuesday included not only two bars, glasses, siphon bottles, mixers, tables and chairs, but also a huge electric phonograph, marble games, table lamps, wall paintings, electric fans, mirrors, pillows, window blinds, step ladders, lad-ders, towels, a vase, ash stands and a couch. |
