Show Movie Fraud Plotter May Go Free-Abroad HOLLYWOOD, Dec. 7 (UP) Mrs. Violet Wells Norton, the Cockney Englishwoman who accused Clark Gable of being the long lost lover who left her with a child, may leave jail and the country, too, if she wishes. Mrs. Norton has spent the last seven months in jail for using the mails in an attempt to defraud Gable. Ga-ble. The conviction was reversed in higher court, but she was detained de-tained by immigration officials. Today immigration officials said they are waiving any action in her case, if she desires' to leave the country voluntarily. She will be freed just as soon as she can make arrangements to depart from the United States, they said. |
