Show 2 Utah 4-H'ers Given Awards Special M the Telegram CHICAGO, 111., Nov. 30 Two Utah 4-H club members Wednesdsy Wednes-dsy were awarded $300 college scholarships for work in gardening garden-ing and farm safety at the 4-H club congress under progress her. They are Gaylen Pedersen, 15, son of Oliver C. Pedersen, 2430 8. Redwood rd., and Nyra Colvin, 18, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Tracy Colvin, Pleasant View, Utah county. The award 'In gardening presented pre-sented to the Salt Lake City youth was donated by Allia Chalmers Manufacturing Co. I Miss Colvin was awarded her scholarship for a radio sketch, "Safety in Cold Weather," on safety safe-ty at home, on the' highway and on the farm. It was given by General Gen-eral Motors Corp. Other Utah 4-H'ers recognized at the national congress were Chsrlene Lind, 18, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L. A. Lind, Midvale, who was preesnted a wool blanket as a special award for her clothing project, and Delfa Hand, 18, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Merrill Hand, Draper, who was named third alternate for the home im-1 im-1 provement scholarship. |
