Show GIAUQUE . iS CHOSEN : i Elected President of School Board and Geoghcgan Gets the Second Place. A. G. Gkiuque was elected president of the Boa d of Education last night, and Joseph fieoghegan was chosen vice-president vice-president b r acclamation. Both were elected for ( ne year. President Newman was nominated, but declined, stating that he had received re-ceived 'hone rs enough from the board, and having served two years, thought he should have the privilege of giving his own business some attention. B. S. Youpg was also nominated, but would not Hermit his name to be used. Judge Henderson was nominated by Mr. Nelden. When the ballot was taken the votes were count d as. follows: Glauque received re-ceived the Jvotes of Brantlng, Moyle, Newman, "ioung, Cummlngs and himself. him-self. Hendersori received the votes of Chessman, Nelcien and himself, while Young got Geoghegan's voce. When It Kvas in order to elect the vice-presidf nt, Geoehegan was nominated nomi-nated by Ntlden and seconded by Moyle. The election was by acclamation, and was a surprise to the nominee. Giauque also expressed surprise at his election. President Giauque will call a board meeting during the coming week, to announce an-nounce his qommittees. ' |
