Show HE LEFT A LETTER TO CORONER AND REPORTERS California Optician fells How-He Came to End His Life in New Jersey. NEW YORK, Jan. 7. William Vohslage, 37 years old, an optician, formerly of San Francisco, buf for the last three months a j-esident of Montdalr, N. J., committed suicide at the home of his brother-in-law! David H. McAlvln, shortly after midnight Monday night by shooting himself in the left breast. Vohslage had written a number of letters, one of which, addressed to the Coroner and reporters, re-porters, was as follows: "William Vohslage has ended his life by shootjng. He comes from a respectable re-spectable family; he was a practical optician, but Unfortunately, was attacked by asthma in a very severe form. My wife was faithful and true to the end, and wasted her money on me. My friends did much to J-elleve me, but all was useless. use-less. "I regret exceedingly the way in which I termini. ted my life, but I have had twenty-two physicians; traveled to all altitudes, but; no matter what was done, it was useless. I suffered greatly, and request that my remains be put away I quietly. I leave a true and faithful wife." |
