Show SEVENTEEN-YEAR-OLD BOY HANGED FOR MURDER OF TWO LADS FOR MONEY CAMDEN, N. J., Jan. 7. Paul Woodward, Wood-ward, aged 17, was hanged in the Camden Cam-den jail today. The drop fell at 1:05 and Woodward was pronounced dead tea minutes later. Woodward was apparently appar-ently the most unconcerned person in the party at the hanging and showed remarkable nerve. The crime for which Woodward paid the death penalty was the murder October Oc-tober 10th last of John Coffin, aged 11 years, and Price Jennings, aged 14. The boys disappeared from their homes on October 1st and their bodies were found In a wood near Hadden Heights, six miles from here, on October 4th. Brought on Suspicion. Previous to the discovery of the bodies bod-ies Woodward had gone to the home of young Coffin and said he could find the boys If a suitable reward was offered. of-fered. When they left home the boys had $10, but when the bodies were found their pockets did not contain a penny. |
