Show HARRIMAN LINES ARE BUYERS OF STEEL NEW TORK, Jan. 5. Interest centers cen-ters in the steel trade in which there is, says the Iron Age, a shade of disappointment disap-pointment from the standpoint of the mills. The railroads have not come forth so liberally with their orders as was expected. The continued buying by the railroads is observed in rolling stock. Some large orders for steel cars have been given out. and negotiations for additional addi-tional lots are pending. This has led to greater activity for the plate and structural struc-tural mills. What mav be a very large transaction transac-tion Is the contract for the bridge sork for the Hani man lines. This calls for a minimum of 15,000 tons, but it may be expanded to a maximum max-imum of 25,000 to 30,000 tons. |
