Show DENY THAT THEY SIGHED PRESENTMENT i .i PHILADELPHIA. Jan. 6.-Rev. W. R. Bodine. president of the board of inquiry, appointed by Bishop Tuttls to take- up the charges msde by Rev. Dr. I. N. W. Irvine of this city against Bishop Talbot of the Central Pennsylvania diocese, made public lasLytight an affidavit lye received from the Huntingdon vestrymen, who have been drawn into the controversy. The affidavit declares that the vestrymen vestry-men signed a petition asking the presid-the presid-the bishop to appoint a committee to examine into and forever dispose of the difficulties between Bishop Talbot and Dr. Irvine, In the interest of peace and harmony har-mony in the church: that no specified charges in writing against Bishop Talbot were presented to affiants in connection with this petition at any time; thst should such chsrges in writing be presented pre-sented for affiant's consideration or for -action thereon they would have re--fusstl I without hesitation to sign such paper pa-per of presentment: thst affiants do not desire to be presenters of Bishop Talbot for trial, snd if thst their names appear on any presentment paper now in existence exist-ence calling for a trisl or Investigation Investiga-tion of evidence by any committee or board of inquiry they desired to have their names withdrawn at once. |
