The residents resi-dents of Leslie, a near-by town, are shocked over the tragic fate of two prominent citizens, both of whom have taken their lives apparently without cause. Recently Floyd Annls, a wealthy farmer, aged 68, committed suicide in bis home, two miles from the village, by firing a bullet into his brain while sitting in a chair. The day of the funeral fu-neral his son shot and killed himself in the same chair. The son and his wife drove out to the homestead from the village to Join the cortege and attend the obsequies In the church. On reaching the place his horse and phaeton were put In the barn and he went into the house. Shortly before noon a pistol shot was heard in an adjoining room. Investigation Investi-gation showed that the son bad fired a bullet Into his head while sitting in the same chair in which his father, sat when he took his life with the same gun. The suicide was committed in the same room, and the chair stood in the same place. Those who met the young man before he left the village to attend the funeral saw nothing out ef the way with him except his natural grief over the loss of his father. He was a man with a family and was 32 years old. He was a Jolly, good-natured fellow, and, like his father, was among the best-known citizens citi-zens in that section. |
