Pletro Mascagnt. the Italian composer, left last night for Kansas City, whence, after giving two concerts, he will go to San Francisco for one week. In each city he will conduct orchestras made up of local musicians. Committees of citizens are in charge at both places. Judiciary Entertained. ' WASHINGTON. Jan. SO.-Presldent and Mrs. Roosevelt entertained at the. White House last night in honor of the Supreme court. The President escorted Mrs. Fuiler, the wife of the Chief Justice, to the table, and opposite them sat Mrs. Roosevelt, wtth the Chief Justice to her right. Funston Well Again. TOPEKA, Jan. 30. Gen. Frederick Funston said that he would not be surprised sur-prised If he were ordered bn'cH to the Philippines before long. He has recovered recov-ered from ull his wounds, he says, and can well endure active service for a while. In answer to a question. Gen. Funston expressed ex-pressed doubt as to the stability of the Cuban Government.
