Since the big pumps have been closed down, Utah lake has risen rapidly and those who have kept data on the lake say that by the time the next irrigation season arrives ar-rives the lake's level will have reached compromise point. This will mean a rise of four feet during the storage season. The canal companies have contracted for an additional pump to be placed in the Jordan river, which will mean a supply sup-ply of 600 second-feet next season instead in-stead of 400 second-feet as the total will next season be five pomps in place of four. Joseph F. Smith, a young Lehl musician musi-cian who has been studying the piano and voice culture in Germany for the past three years, is home again. Mr. Smith haa made very rapid progress and will undoubtedly be rated among the leading musicians of the State. He has accepted a position with 8. T. U. of Provo.
