A corpse coming to life at the wrong time gave the police the cue to one of the Queerest cases in the history of Atlanta criminality. Kelly Steerman, a twelve-year-old boy, enlisted the sy apathies of several ladles of the West End. who went to the dirty, ill-kept home and, seeing lying on the bed 1 what they believed to be the dead body of the father, gave a sufficient amount of j money to have the body given a decent ! burial. After the ladies left one of them discovered discov-ered that she had left her gloves and, going go-ing back In quest of them, found the corpse sitting upon the side of the bed counting his burial money. The ladies reported re-ported the case to the police. Steerman is a professional beggar, and the police have had to deal with him before. |
