Show MISS ROOSEVELT REACHES SAN JUAN Eldest Daughter of the President Will Receive Public Demonstrations in Her Honor. SAN JUAN, P. R., March 19. Miss Alice Roosevelt landed here at 8:30 o'clock this morning on the steamer Como, from New York, January 14th. She was met by Gov. Hunt and his family and driven to the palace, where she afterward held an Informal reception. recep-tion. Miss Roosevelt will receive the citizens' citi-zens' committee in public tomorrow and will attend the citizens' reception at the theater in the evening, when there will be a display of fireworks and a demonstration demon-stration in her honor. Many invitations have been issued by the Governor for an entertainment on Saturday. On Wednesday Miss Roosevelt will leave San Juan on an inland trip, during which she will visit the principal plantations plan-tations and cities. The Inhabitants of Ponce have made extensive preparations to receive Miss Roosevelt, several thousand dollars being be-ing raised by subscription for that purpose. |
