O'Doh-nU O'Doh-nU hare pinioned Councilman T. S. Fern-Strom Fern-Strom in attempting to "flim-flam" the City Council by making a companion tf death rates that was net uniform. Councilman Femstrora wu shown up last evening at making a perverted showing to produce political po-litical capital and newspaper copy. Last Monday night Councilman Fera-strom Fera-strom tried to back up a resolution that wss referred back to him as "ungentlemanly." It charged that the entire city waa in an unsanitary un-sanitary condition. To prove this be produced pro-duced a health report that showed that there had been 143 more deaths in Salt Lake City during the first eight months of this year than during the corresponding period last year. This he asserted waa the greatest death record in the history of Salt Lake City. Councilman O'Donnell, chairman of the Sanitary committee, became curious about the figures. He went to the health department and looked up the records himself. To his surprise he discovered that Councilman Fernstront had worked the Council. He had made no comparison with the corresponding period for 1804 when the record beats the present death rate by two, although the population pop-ulation of Salt Lake City has increased by 10,000 since then. Councilman O'Donnell was ready with the records to harpoon Fern-Strom Fern-Strom with last night. It waa during the discussion of the affair Monday night that Councilman Black cracked a joke that has caused considerable comment. com-ment.
