Point, post athletic director,- is enthusiastic - over rthe Fort Douglas football outlook for this falL For the past two weeks ten to fifteen men have" been out daily 'for '-two and one-ialf .hours ; practice. .. . . . - Next week seven companies will arrive ar-rive from the summer army maneuvers at Fort Eussell, Wyo. Two full teams will then be out for the hard season. The 'latter part of October or the first of November the First battalion will arrive from Fort Logan, having been transferred to Fort Douglas. This will make eleven companies located at the post. - . . . The First Battalion has a fast heavy team which last year held its own with anything it met. No clmpany teams will be formed this year owing to the lateness of the season, but the united effort of all will tend to develop the first team, which will be a fast one. .. From present indications the team, will average about one hundred and seventy pounds. - Lieut,-Point is working work-ing hard,, and with the assistance of a Second Lieutenant from West Point,' who was on the national squad one year, the team, . within a short time, will be trained into first-class shape. All the-men have cut out dissipation during the season and if. condition will help are' determined -to play a better game than ever. - ' ' |
