Show TWO REVENUE CUTTERS SUNK IN MOBILE BAY WASHINGTON, Sept. 29. Assistant Assist-ant Secretary Edwards has received a telegram from F. M. Rock, engineer in charge of the revenue cutter Alert, dated at Mobile, September 28, as follows: fol-lows: "Alert was sunk at her berth at. 7 o'clock this morning by. the river steamer Nellie running into her during a violent "easterly gale. Impossible to estimate damages at present." Nothing has been heard of the revenue reve-nue cutter Winona or the 'launch Pen-" rose, which was in Mobile harbor at the time of the hurricane. |
