A well known young couple who sought to avoid the gibes and teasing of their friends by slipping quietly away to Stockton, . Tooele county, to be married will be much surprised to learn upon their return tonight that their secret' is known. The ". secret" is published-to the world, not only in THE TELEGRAM, but in numerous signs about their home that a wedding has taken place. f ' Miss Cora E.'Hess, a sister of Mrs. Dr. Wesley Davis of -444 South Sixth East .street, and Charles Chestnut, a popular young man, left the city early this morning for an automobile ride. Their-destination was Stockton, Tooele county, where they were married soon after their arriva"l by the Rev. Mr. Cook. They expect to return home this evening. m Their going to Stockton was largely to avoid the teasing propensities of Mrs. Chestnut's brother-in-law, Dr. Davis. Da-vis. The latter "got wise" to the maneuver, ma-neuver, - however, and the bride and groom will have a warm reception awaiting them upon their .arrival at their home, 673 Third street. |
