Show MISS M'CANNE WINS - COLD MEDAL CONTEST Miss Alberta McCanne of the Central Christian church won the gold metal in the girls' oratorical contest open to all churches of the State, held last night in the Westminister Presbyterian church. Miss McCanne chose as her subject, "The Bridal Wine Cup," which she delivered de-livered with finished quality, clearness, and spirit. The five others entered in the contest did surprisingly welL While the judges, W. W. Barton, Mrs. Ethel Lane and J. Street were preparing their - decision, Mrs. W. A. Wight rendered her selection selec-tion "Jacob on American Women," with which she recently, won a silver medaL - HattieToster and Clara Fafek rendered ren-dered the musical numbers in pleasing stvle. Mrs. E. E. Shepard, president of the State W. T. C. L made a few brief and appropriate remarks in presenting Miss McCanne with her medaL ' . . I |
