Show BOY VOLUNTEERS TO PUNISHMENT After BreaKing Parole Ben Thomas Writes Judge Brown That He Will Go to Industrial SchooL After breaking his parole and being absent from the State Industrial school for several months,' Ben Thomas returned re-turned to that institution yesterday morning and announced that he was ready to take his medicine. Young Thomas was sent np by Judge Brown several months ago. As is the custom of the court the boy waa allowed to make the journey alone. A short time later be was allowed a three-day parole pa-role to visit' his mother in this city. Not only did he fail to return, but he wrote to Superintendent Thomas stating stat-ing that he did not intend to do sol Later Judge Brown heard that the boy was in the city and sent for him. The boy, however, refused to go to the court. A few days ago he telephoned to Judge Brown saying that he was ready to go back but that he did not have the money with which to pay his fare. Judge Brown offered to lend him the money if he would come for it. This the youth refused, but said he would send for it. True to his word he sent for the money on Thursday of this week. Yesterday Superintendent Thomas telephoned tel-ephoned to Brown stating that Ben had returned to the school. |
