Show STRIKE SETTLED IN MANY STATES KANSAS CITY, June 8. When the sub-committee of the conference of Southwestern soft coal miners and operators met today to submit to the full conference the agreement on their difficulties as adopted, it was predicted that the strike in this part of the country coun-try would be declared off during the day. The mine presidents of the districts dis-tricts comprising Kansas, Indian Territory Ter-ritory and Arkansas had on May 30 agreed to the proposition offered by the operators, but the Mlssourians held out, fighting for certain small concessions. conces-sions. t It was these difficulties that John Mitchell, president of the United Mine-Workers Mine-Workers of America, was called here to clear up and when the conference closed at midnight last night after fifteen fif-teen hours of argument, he had succeeded suc-ceeded in gaining the concessions from the operators? The agreement renews the 1903 scale of prices for the period ending March 31, 1903. It affects approximately 32.000 miners in Missouri, Kansas, Indian! Territory and Arkansas.
