Kinney's statement that he was a "poor but honest farmer." raised another laugh that was silenced when the lawyer-crop-raiser announced that he was really the owner of a farm. , . When Wilson rone to speak on an amendment to H. B. No. 9J Monday afternoon after-noon Speaker pro tern Miller requested him to confine himself to the amendment nnd not speak on the merits of the bill. Wilson retorted. "I'll speak as-I see fit. on any subject f want to." And he did. Miller deeming it best to let the "obstructionist" "obstruc-tionist" have his way. When this announcement an-nouncement was made the gentleman from Wasatch said, in a grieved tone, "X don't think It ought to have gone to the Senate, ami I don't believe it would have passed If It had been understood. If it was understood before it was passed then I don't want it reconsidered." .The bill was not reconsidered. |
