Show FEDERATION OF CHURCH CLUBS Bishor Greer Indorses the Plan and Sends Out a Circular Utter. NEW YORK. Nov. 13. Indorsed by Coadjutor Bishop Greer, a letter from whom was read In all the Protestant Episcopal churches of this city, there was formally inaugurated yesterday a movement for the federation of church clubs, which has some novel features. Not the least interesting of these Is the fact that the order of service for the meetings contains two special prayers, one for the nation and one for the city and a litany for the society. At present the federation Is sectarian In that the clubs which are being federated fed-erated all belong to the Protestant Episcopal church. It Is expected that ultimately, however, when Its usefulness has been established, all the other denominations, de-nominations, including Roman Catholics Catho-lics and Hebrews, will join. Forty parishes will be represented by clubs which will attend a meeting which will be held In Cooper Union next Thursday evening. Bishop Greer will deliver an address. The Rev. Dr. Henry L. Mottet of this city has been chosen president of the federation. |
