Show "SPOT" KING FOR BURGLARY HEARING The preliminary hearing of W. W. Haker, alias "Spot" King, on charges of burglary in the first degree was begun be-gun before City Judge C. H. Diehl in the criminal division of the City court this morning. Hans Jcpperson and Charles Chapman, Chap-man, arrested with King, and Jointly charged with the same crimes, waived their preliminary hearing, and were held to answer in Kietrlct court for trial. The defendants are alleged by the Police department to be wholesale chicken thieves who have robbed many hen roosts within the last few weeks. On the night of the capture of Jcpperson Jcpper-son and Chapman, the police sent a hailstorm of shot from shotguns at the men. Raker escaped, but was taken on the following morning. Uaker was slightly wounded by shotgun pellets. |
