What Our Readers Say I 1 TAXATION IDEA Peoples People's Corner I wonder if it there is any mem member r rot of ot this legislature who is willing to acknowledge defeat or will try and take taka inspiration from Washington's undefeatable courage All the legislators seem to want tax legislation so that it will be operated constitutionally and neither neith neith- er confiscate property nor cause cause property to be destroyed and people people peo peo- pie to be left in idleness But some of them seem scent to think or to escape the ideas of paid doctrines doc doe trines to the effect that any reform reform reform re re- re- re form must be preceded by vast ex cx- Utah has tried that We gave a Princeton doctor a great fee to come and tell us not to tax the property of Utah owned by people in New York ork with paper wealth locked In Vall street vaults This legislature can regulate all aU taxation so as to tax every entity owning an any Income from Utah sources or activities This will sup sup- ply enough revenue for all units of ot government and exempt all unpretentious unpretentious tenUous homes where there is no adequate income I IA IA A DEFENDER OF UTAH'S CONSTITUTION D.
