SUSPECTS HELD INCHECK IN INCHECK CHECK THEFT PROBE Two men were held in the city jail on open charges Frida Friday while police were investigating the alleged theft of a check from Homer Cundick Cundick Cundick Cun- Cun dick South State street sheep sheep- man last Wednesday The two men are arc Harry Jones 39 and Harry Charles 50 both of whom were taken into custod custody Friday at the Yellowstone hotel 54 West First South street by City Detectives E. W Farnsworth The arrest of Jones and Charles followed the complaint of Miss Winnie Winnie Winnie Win Win- nie Cundick daughter of Cundick that her father had been missing for two days and that he failed to return after having gone to the Wasatch Livestock Loan company to negotiate a loan After a brief search early Friday Cundick according to police reports was found in m a room in the thc hotel 34 East First South street with witha a companion Orson Thomas Cundick police said related a story that he met Thomas shortly after having haying having hav hay ing obtained the loan Wednesday and that the they went to the hotel where they met Jones During the evening they drank liquor Cundick said according to palice police police po po- lice and he fell asleep Later the he awoke and found his coat containing the check missing He did not report the alleged thief to police Cundick said because he believed it would be returned Police reported thc they found Cundick's Condick's Cundick's Cun- Cun dicks dick's coat in the hotel in which Jones and Charles Chlrles were arrested but that the check was missing Payment on the check which was payable at the Utah State National bank has been stopped according to police
