Firemen to Give Exhibition at School Bugle Corps Competition I While members of the Salt Lake Telegram bugle corps and color guard guardin in the public schools will hold the center of the stage Saturday at the first annual competition in flag nag ceremonies ceremonies ceremonies cere cere- monies members of or the Salt Lake fire ire department under Chief Walter S. S Knight will contribute an interesting interest- interest ing ng addition to the program when they stage a special firo drill for the pupils from the various schools The fire tire department will erect the ladders on the ladd ladder r truck and the thrilling performance of oC jumping into life saving savinI nets will be staged The fire departments department's contribution will be during the afternoon program which starts promptly at 1 Among the afternoon events w will be competition of bugle corps and color guard from 23 Salt Lake public schools Each Ench unit will march to the flag pole sound the appropriate calls raise the flag lag on the flagstaff lower it and march off Judges will make decision on the l merits of the various corps on the military bearing precision and ad ad- I Ito to military regulations as aswell aswell aswell well as ns ability of the buglo bugle corps All bugle corps and color guard will gather gath th er at the bandstand promptly at 1 p. p x m. m to take p part in the competition There will also be an individual competition among the buglers to determine determine de de- termine the best bugler in Salt SaIl Lake schools The preliminaries will start promptly at 11 a. a m. m One representative tive from each o of The Telegram bugle corps units in the city cily will be admitted admitted admitted admit admit- ted to competition During the morning morning morning morn morn- ing even the number will be reduced who will compete in the finals in the afternoon Trophies w will vill be awarded to first and second place winners In addition to the individual bugle competition and the bugle buglo corps and color guard demonstration there will willbe willbe be a a demonstration of or all military bugle calls caUs b by the massed corps of all schools These events with the life saving saying drill of Salt Lake firemen will prove a thrilling afternoon for forthe forthe forthe the youngsters Student bodies of all schools school parents par teachers and the public arc are in in- to attend
