Show Jajccc Wives Club Honors Artists One of the loveliest social gatherings in connection with the April Art Exhibit was the inter-club luncheon, program and art tour sponsored by the Springville Jaycee Wives on Wednesday evening of the past week, at the Art Building. The evening's entertainment was attended by Jaycee club auxiliaries front various parts of the state, including American Fork, Fillmore, Nephi, Gunnison, Salt Lake City, Spanish Fork, Bountiful and Provo, and other guests . numbering approximately 125 people in all. As the guests arrived they were served luncheon in the Little Theatre The-atre at small tables centered with miniature vases of sweet peas with lace doilies as place mats. During the luncheon instrumental music was rendered by a string ensemble ensem-ble composed of Mrs. Eileen Bird, Mrs. Carol C. Kretch, Mrs. Thora Johnson and Coleen Lewis. Later the group assembled in the gallery, where Mrs. Mae Huntington Hunt-ington gave1 highlights of the current cur-rent exhibit. Also, Springville artists, in whose honor the function func-tion was held, were introduced by Mrs. Harriet Miner, club president. presi-dent. The guests of honor included: in-cluded: Hughes Curtis, and Mrs. Retta Kearns, mother of the late Howard Kearns; Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Johnson, Mr. and Mrs. Glen Turner, Mr. and Mrs. V. O. Hafen, Richard Gunn. Mrs. Marie Clark Miller of Glendale, Calif., and Mrs. Florence Frandsen, Salt Lake City, were unable to attend. In behalf of the Jaycee Wives club, Mrs. Miner presented Mrs. Huntington with a check for the art project. Another highlight of the evening eve-ning was presentation of a lovely Glen Turner water color painting as a door prize, to Mrs. Harriet Peterson of Provo. Mrs. Naomi Thorn was general chairman of the entertainment, assisted as-sisted by Mrs. Harriet Miner, Mrs. Anna Ostlund, Mrs. Evelyn Boyer, reception committee; Mrs. Nina Rasmussen, Mrs. Clara" Parker, Mrs. Lucille Wilstad, tickets; Mrs. Marie Radcliffe, Mrs. Harriet Miner, favors; Mrs. Maurine Mor-tensen, Mor-tensen, Mrs. Amy Klauck, flowers. |
