Show TRAGEDY STRIKES TWICE IN SAME FAMILY TUESDAY Tragedy struck twice in the same family Tuesday within a few hours, when Mrs. Anna Mendenhall Menden-hall 76, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Edward Clyde at 1:30 a.m., and her son's wife, Mrs. Clara Bagley Mendenhall, wife of Wilferd T. Mendenhall, died very unexpectedly at 9:30 p.m., at a hospital in Phoenix, Ariz., of a cerebral hemorrhage. She was born in Heber City and after the death of her parents went to live with Mr. and Mrs. C. R. Cluff in Provo. She graduated gradu-ated from the B.Y.U., and taught school in Provo prior to her marriage mar-riage to Mr. Mendenhall in 1924. They have lived in Arizona since 1925. Mr. Mendenhall, a former lieutenant colonel in the army, is assistant state entamologist. She is survived by her husband and four sons and daughters, Miss Legia Mendenhall, a senior at the B.Y.U.: Thomas Deal, Clair and Alice Mendenhall of Phoenix. Mr. Mendenhall was making plans to attend the funeral of his mother, when his wife took suddenly sud-denly ill. Detailed plans for the funeral had not been received here Wednesday, Wed-nesday, but it was believed by relatives the services and burial would be in Arizona. |
