Last Thursday, First and Fourth fought a ding-dong battle with First emerging with a two-point two-point win, 26-24. Sixth fell before be-fore an alert, hard-fighting Second ward 17-20 while Mapleton bounced bounc-ed over Fifth 62-17. Saturday night's games, which saw some close and hard-fought battles by one of the largest M Men crowds, went to Fifth over Fourth in a thrilling battle, 23-25. Sixth surprised Mapleton by holding hold-ing the star-studded club throughout through-out the first half, leading the winners 19-15. Mapleton came back, thanks to the stellar playing play-ing of Juan Whiting, to run away from Sixth 41-28. In the final evening's battle, which was another an-other thriller, Second eked out a 22-17 third-quarter lead. Saturday night, Jan. 12 schedule: 7 p. m. First vs. Mapleton 8 p. m.
