Show COST OF AERIAL OFFENSIVE TOLD The cost of our aerial offensive against Germany is seen in part by the fact that the U. S. Eighth Air Force, operating from England, Eng-land, lists 43,742 fighter pilots and bomber crewmen as killed or missing miss-ing in action. The missing in action include some airmen who managed to avoid death in crashes inside Germany Ger-many or bailed out to safety. This factor will probably be absent in operation against Japan because of the probability that the barbaric barbar-ic Japanese may exact reprisals upon captured airmen. In this connection it is not too early .for people of this country to make up their minds to demand severe penalties against the Japs for the mistreatment of captured Americans. |
