Show SUGGESTION MADE ON WHAT TO SEND SERVICEMEN A reader of the Herald sent in a suggestion this week on what to send boys in the service and in support of her suggestion, enclosed en-closed a "guide for overseas communications,' com-munications,' written by an army sergeant. The sergeant expressed the desire de-sire of his buddies for boxes of home-made eats and personal letters, let-ters, not greeting cards. He stated stat-ed that "after two years in jungles, jun-gles, fox-holes and on the desert, we get tired of Christmas cards, valentines, Easter greeting and birthday cards. What we want is less flowery phrases and more packages of something to eat. There isn't one of you back home who could know what a soda cracker or pretzel tastes like after two years," he said. |
