Show . WIFE GETS WORD OF HUSBAND BEING LIBERATED Mrs. Rosalie Bjarnson Daybell of this city received word from the Red Cross Sunday that her husband, hus-band, Pvt. Lloyd Keith Daybell, had been liberated in Germany. He , -jffc - had been a prisoner since Dec. 6, 1944. On Tuesday, she also received a letter from her husband which stated that he was liberated by the Russians on May 3, but it was not official until he was back in American hands. He said that he had a pretty long walk, but had Red Cross food which made it much earier. He described the Red Cross as okey. He stated also that it seemed good to be where he was not afraid "of our own planes," and said they had done a fine job. He said that while he was a prisoner, he worked in a hospital and it was really terrible the way the Germans cared for their own wounded. They had no medicine for them, he said. His letter was written on V-E Day, and he commented on "our wonderful country and army." He also stated that he was at that time waiting for a plane to take him to France. His parents are Mr. and Mrs. Robert Daybell of Provo. |
