Headman, husband hus-band of the former LaDean Bulk-ley, Bulk-ley, is now at Okinawa. He has been in the Philippines. He has served 28 months, with 25 months' spent overseas. Local Service Men Leave For Training Among local men who left during dur-ing the past week for training are, David Beal, Gary Wm. Averett, and Benny C. Olsen. Morris Llewellyn Enters Navy Morris Llewellyn, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fay Llewellyn of Maple- ton, left recently for the Navy. He is stationed at Great Lakes, 111., for his boot training. When he completes that, he expects to attend a radio technician school. Pfc. Verl Weight Comes to U. S. Pfc. Verl Weight recently landed land-ed in New York and is stationed at Denver, Col., at the Fitzsimmons General hospital receiving treatment treat-ment for wounds received in action ac-tion in Germany about two months ago. He is a son of Fred Weight of this city. Pfc. Roy Bird Now. In Texas Pfc. Roy Bird, son of Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Bird, has been sent to El Paso, Texas, where he is being treated for facial injuries and other oth-er wounds suffered in action in Germany. He hopes soon to get a furlough to visit in Springville. Local Man ' Gets Promotion 15th AAF In Italy; Cpl. John G. Bartholomew was recently promoted pro-moted to his present grade. He is an electrician with the 97th Bombardment Bom-bardment Group. Cpl. Bartholomew Bartholo-mew has been awarded the Good Conduct Medal and has earned the European-African - Middle East Theater Ribbon with two battle participation stars. Pvt. Ted iKndred On Okinawa 1 Pvt. Ted Kindred, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Kindred, is stationed sta-tioned on Okinawa with the Marines Ma-rines and he states that while everything ev-erything is plenty hot down there, he is well. Pierce II. Butler Gets Promotion Pierce H. Butler has been promoted pro-moted to sergeant and is now driving a car for a four-star general gen-eral in Italy. He is a son of Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Butler and was here recently on furlough. Armed Forces Keith Bulkley Completes Course At San Diego Keith Bulkley recently graduated graduat-ed from training in the Navy at San Diego, Calif.
