Show Fishing Season Opens IirState Saturday - Stream West of Fish Hatchery Again Reserved For Children Under 16; Hours To Be From 8 A. M. To 5 P. M. IS7s fishing adepts will Kie to the mountain streams and lakes this week-end when the fishing season o t.cialiy opens Saturday, June 14. at 5 a. mnodousan awaiting the season's opening,, getting their rods, reels and regalia together for what promises to be one of the state's biggest and busiest busi-est seasons. The creel limit for the season is seven pounds and one fish or fifteen fif-teen fish in one day. No fisherman fisher-man can legally have in possession posses-sion more than 14 pounds and one fish or 30 fish. This year, as in the past, local fish and game authorities are asking ask-ing local fishermen to leave the Spring Creek stream west of the Fish Hatchery, for children's fishing fish-ing quarters. These waters will be open, for fishing from 8 until 5 p. m., and are for children under 16 years of age. This stream was reserved last year for the "small fries" and fish and game officials extend their thanks to the oldsters and ask' their cooperation again this year. Some Waters Closed . . . Not all Utah waters will be open on June 14. Here are the waters that will remain closed: 1. All state fish hatcheries and waters adjacent to properties owned own-ed or operated by state fish and game department. 2. Box Elder county. Willomere creek or right fork of Box Elder creek from source to junction with Box Elder creek. 3. Garfield county. Parowan creek, Deer creek, Bunker creek and Ispon creek, tributaries to Panguitch lake, Blue Springs creek from, source to confluence with Bunker creek. 4. Sanpete county. North fork of Manti creek. All streams entering enter-ing Ferron reservoir. 5. Salt Lake county. Mountain Dell reservoir and Mountain Dell creek from reservoir up to cattle guard on Emigration canyon cutoff cut-off road in Parley's canyon; Mill creek and its tributaries as it flows from 9th East diagonally to 33rd South; City creek, properties of the Clear View and Welch trout farms as marked and posted. 6. Sevier county. Fish lake for a radius of 250 yards from the mouth of Twin creeks as posted. 7. Tooele county. Vernon creek from the source to first bridge below Little valley ranger station as marked and posted. 8. Utah county. Provo river from the Knudsen swimming hole down stream to the bridge near the mouth of said river closed to fish- j ing to protect bass spawning. 9. Juab county.- Birch swamps ' in Salt Creek canyon as marked and posted. 10. Wasatch county. Deer creek from its junction with Provo river up to railroad crossing above government gov-ernment property. All the waters flowing into Strawberry reservoir. Midway hatchery stream from the hatchery property to the railroad bridge crossing said stream. Deer creek reservoir from a point 2,000 feet in front of the dam down to the old highway crossing below the dam. 11. Weber county. All waters of the right-hand fork of the south fork of Ogden river. Ogden river from Pine View dam down to the first bridge crossing of the Ogden canyon highway. Causeur creek drainage from Boy Scout dam to source. All of Wheeler creek, a tributary of Woodruff creek. Big Springs creek from source to Liberty Lib-erty highway. 12. Summit county. Heiner creek closed. |
