Show MODERN SCOUTS WILL HONOR EARLY LEADERS Scouts of 1947 will follow the trails of Orson Pratt and Erastus Snow, Scouts of 1847, in connection connec-tion with the Centennial Scout Camp to be held on the Fort Douglas Doug-las Military Reservation July 21-25, 21-25, George Q. Morris, chairman of the camp executive committee, has announced. Plans call for a sunrise service for Senior Scouts on July 24 on Donner Hill at the mouth of Emigration Emi-gration Canyon from which the two advance Scouts of Pres. Brig-ham Brig-ham Young's company gained their first view of the Salt Lake Valley on July 21, 1847. Members of the Pratt and Snow families, especially es-pecially those connected with Scouting, are to be especially honored, hon-ored, chairman Morris said. Some of the Scouts will actually camp along the old trails as a portion por-tion of it crosses the camp area. It is being set up and gravelled as a special street in the camp and has been designated as the Pioneer Trail on the camp maps. |
